May 30, 2009 by Troy Hanson ·
Just had a chance to speak to Geoff Petrie following this afternoon’s interview with head coaching candidate Tom Thibodeau. Here are some direct quotes from Geoff regarding the Thibodeau interview as well as an update on the other candidates.
On Today’s Tom Thibodeau Interview
“We met for two-and-a-half hours in what I would categorize as an impressive overall interview. We talked at length on his basketball philosophies. Tom was very well prepared and is very engaging. He certainly is someone whose extensive NBA coaching experience, which includes approximately 140 Playoff games, really comes across when you sit down and talk with him. He is definitely a teacher with a pragmatic approach to development.”

The Ultimate Sacrifice
May 24, 2009 by Geoff Petrie ·
Early this morning, while jogging thru the byways of the Delta complete with its resplendent vineyards and waterways, my thoughts turned to our national celebration of Memorial Day. This day stirs memories of my father who served honorably in the 1st Marine Division in World War II. He enlisted in his late 20’s to go serve and protect his country. Along with so many others who have been described as the Greatest Generation, he put at risk our greatest asset as human beings - the gift of life. While he survived the war, cancer proved to be an even more lethal enemy. He died in his early 40’s when I was 10 years old. A few years ago on the eve of another Memorial Day, I made a video to commemorate all of those past, present, and future who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the freedoms we all enjoy. The images are current but the feelings are timeless. From my heart to yours, have a blessed Memorial Day.
