Love the blog!
This post thing is less exciting than the acutal Kings themselves. I posted a reasonable thought
weeks ago but it did not appear. Did not have the zest and curb appeal of "Love the blog!" but…..nothing. Build the stage..and they will come!
hey every one. my first post here on full court press, so I'll make it short. I really hope the kings can pull it together for next year. Let's face it, the 08-09 season is a wash. With the addition of veteran point guard sam "the alien" cassell I hope he can rub off some of his experience to the others.
I'll wait to rant about the team after the trade deadline. Let's face it, the team needs to hear it from the fans. I have watched this team since the early 80's when I was a kid and remember theus visiting my elementary school, picking me to demonstrate a free-throw. I missed the shot but never forgot that day. Purple and silver to the end!!!
Why did the Kings aquire Drew Gooden and then waive him weeks later. Coach Natt already had prior experience with him, when he was a coach at Cleveland. It seem like a waste of time, knowing if you did not show him love, he would not performe on the court.
The Kings have a nice young team. The one thing that is missing to relieve JT, is a big nasty big man. The team is simply too nice.
Well if we pick up Blake G in the draft we will have just that!
The season is over and some things need to be said. I'm a season ticket holder and have not decided to renew yet. I had no problem with the Miller/Salmons trade. Miller was a cry baby and Salmons would only play well without Martin. I was excited about Nocioni and Goodin coming here. 2 tough guys on the inside. Goodin does 13 pts, 12 rbs and we get rid of him. He could have really helped us. I feel sorry for the guys with all the trades and decisions. The owners really don't even show up anymore. What have we had, 4 coaches. Natt is a real downer to the team in his interviews. The owners need to step up and spend the money for a good coach. We could have had Brown, or someone like him. We get Diogu and he sits on the bench until this week. Top scorer in his conferrence for 2 years in college. Player of the year! No one plays him. Last 2 games averages 30 points, what 12 rbs. We won't resign him, I'm sure. He most likely wouldn't want to be here.

All I heard is "he's undersize, he's undersize"! He plays really big! Give me a team that's undersize and each scores 30 points anytime. How many games could we have won with even 20+ point games from him. We need to keep Jackson, although he might not sign either. He said he would kill himself if he had to go through another season like this one. We also need to keep Green and Nocioni and of course; Garcia, Udrih, Thompson, Martin, Hawes and if we can, Diogu and Jackson. Then go out and spend some money on free agents. We may have a real problem getting anyone to come here after the decisions that have been made the last couple of years. Reminds me of the year we didn't protect Wallace. To me that was a no brainer! We have, on the most part, had good first round picks, but from there on the decisions have not been good, All the trades and decisions have sent the team to the bottom and it is not, IS NOT, the players fault. It's the attitude and decisions of the ownership and top management and the coach. I hope they read this. I feel better!
I agree that Coach Natt could be more positive. He kept saying , "Needless to say……." all the time. I believe he has a good heart and wanted the guys to perform well and he did well for having to abruptly take over after Reggie Theus was fired. Diago is a must keep, in my opinion, or he will be traded. After his performance the last two games other teams in the NBA are going to be reevaluating Diago. I am not sure why Drew Gooden was traded. He was only given one game to play. I am not sure if that is enough time for evaluation. He could have helped out the younger players and been stability for the Kings. Imagine what Gooden and Diago could have done each game. We will never know. Everything is in the past. I suggest we forget this season and get started on the next one. I am feeling better too. Thanks Don for the good comments.
My reply to GoKingsFan_CAM, I have played on championship basketball teams and a couple of loosing teams. There is not a whole lot of positive interviews that you can do on Coach Natt's part if your team are not willing to play defense on a night in night out type basis. Maybe what he really should have done is pulled a Bobby Knight type interview, maybe that would have put more fire in the team and the community.
Thanks for replying! This is a privilege. Larry Robinson. You were on the NBA Championship team Houston Rockets 1993-1994. I totally agree with you about the teams unwillingness or inability to play defense and I am in no way blaming the teams performance on Coach Natt. I apologize. I know that each coach has different styles of coaching. I love Coach Natt. He was very patient as a coach with this young team. He showed real loyalty with the Kings. The fans and I appreciate Couch Natt for that. We owe him allot of gratitude for staying with the team. Coach Natt is the real deal. Please accept my apology. Coach Natt did the best he could with the team he was given. Again. Thanks for replying.
