Exclusive: New SKDT Poster Coming Soon

November 20, 2009 by Katie

Since Thanksgiving is right around the corner, I want to start off by giving thanks to all of our loyal Kings fans. Each game I’m amazed by the support and energy from our fans and I’m excited to have them by our side as the Kings progress throughout the season.

I am looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with my family and loved ones. It’s always a nice break from my daily routine to enjoy great food and conversation with the people that mean the most to me. Luckily, my family lives near Sacramento making my Thanksgiving travels minimal. This year I’m surprising my family by making a special vegetarian dish. So far butternut squash pasta sounds like the best option, but if you have any recommendations or favorite recipes, I welcome your comments below! I’ve never cooked anything for my entire family, so I am quite nervous but confident they will enjoy whatever I decide to bring.

Yesterday I participated in a media promotion on the set of “Good Day Sacramento” with Ari, Candace, Kings players, Slamson and two members of the Kings Break Dancers. We filmed a short segment to promote the Kings game on December 6th vs. the Miami Heat. From news anchor to camera operation and the control room, we pretended to take over the entire set of “Good Day Sacramento.” We had a great time and enjoyed working with the morning show crew.

Last week Becca, Heather, Jenn and I filmed a promotion for one of the Kings partners, Folsom Lake Ford & Folsom Lake Kia. Each dance team member was paired with a car to promote and explain its features. I was paired with the new Ford Edge. We filmed from different angles of the car while having to memorize a difficult script. Our lines were tricky because they involved technical aspects of the cars, which most of us weren’t familiar with. I think Heather had the hardest line of the day, “On the SHO model, you’ll get the all-new 3.5 liter EcoBoost twin turbocharged direct injection engine that delivers V6 economy with V8 performance.” Talk about a tongue twister, but she nailed it! It was a challenging shoot, but a lot of fun. Check out Kings.com to see the Folsom Lake Ford & Folsom Lake Kia Virtual Showroom coming soon.

To all of our fans who have enjoyed our first-ever SKDT calendar, I have some good news for you! We have a photoshoot for our new SKDT poster on Tuesday, November 24th. I can’t give away too many details, but we will be shooting in downtown Sacramento and I can assure you it’s going to turn out great! Stay tuned for our poster release later this season.

Lastly, I want to thank all of our Twitter.com/SKDT followers! I have received many thoughtful compliments about the dance team through Twitter and can’t wait to hear more suggestions and feedback during the season.

For those of you who can’t wait for Thanksgiving, come enjoy a free buffet at ARCO on Wednesday before the Kings take on the New York Knicks. Hope to see you there!

Go Kings!

Missed reading about the Kings Dancers. Glad to see that you are back writing your blog. It lets others know that all of you are more than a dance team and are out and about in the community and being a part of the community, not just part of ARCO. Keep blogging. We get a kick reading them.
