CHICAGO 101, SACRAMENTO 87
November 17, 2009 – At ARCO Arena, former King John Salmons scored 23 points to lead the Bulls past the Kings, 101-87, ending the Kings four-game win streak. Chicago took a 14-point halftime lead (61-47) and led by that same amount to open the fourth quarter, 86-72. However, the Kings used a 9-2 spurt to close within seven, 88-81, with 8:12 left in the fourth quarter. That would be the closest the Kings would get to the Bulls the rest of the way. Donté Greene, making his fifth career start to fill in for the injured Andres Nocioni (right hip pointer), scored a game- and career-high 24 points. Tyreke Evans contributed 20 points, four rebounds, four assists, two steals and three blocks. Bulls center Joakim Noah recorded a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
NOTES: Tyreke Evans recorded his fifth straight 20-point performance. The last Kings rookie to record that many 20-point showings was Lionel Simmons, who posted seven straight 20-point games during the 1990-91 season (Feb. 12 – 27, 1991). Jason Thompson, who had recorded doubles-doubles in the previous five games, tallied eight points and a team-high nine rebounds. Sacramento and Chicago finished dead-even on rebounding with each team grabbing 41 boards. Chicago had six players score in double-figures, including former King Brad Miller, who tallied 11 off the bench.
