Tyreke’s Blog: Ready to Tip-Off Season

October 28, 2009 by Tyreke Evans

This is a dream come true. I can’t wait for the regular season to get started.

The month of training camp went well. It’s going to be a tough season because we’re a young team, but I like the group of guys around me. It was nice that I already knew JT and Donté before I got to Sacramento, but all the guys have helped me get adjusted to NBA life. Kevin and Francisco have especially gone out of their way to make me feel welcome on this team.

I have three goals this season. My goal for the team this season is to win more games than last year. My personal goal is to win Rookie of the Year. Off the court, my goal is to have a positive affect on the community. With the great support Kings fans have already shown and our team’s hard work, I have confidence all the goals can be accomplished.

As I do before every game, I’ll be getting ready for my first NBA game listening to Jay-Z and Lil’ Wayne.

Fans who know how much I love playing NBA 2K have asked me what it’s like playing as myself on 2K10 – it’s a dream come true and an indescribable feeling. To grow up and play video games, I never thought I’d be playing as myself on a video game. By the way, if you’re a video game player, I may have an NBA 2K10 tournament later this season so look out for it!

I’m ready to tip-off the season and get out there and play. Keep showing us your support and hopefully we’ll see a lot of you at our home opener against the Grizzlies at ARCO Arena on Monday.

I wish you and all the Kings the best. I know you all want to win as much as possible, same as the fans. I think most of us understand that it may take some time, but I want you to know that I support my Kings 100%, always.

awww///I'm such a huge fan of Tyreke already. He is my FAVORITE king by far. (I have not really had a FAVORITE since bibby and christie).

p.s. Hope Tyreke's ankle is okay! That was a frightening moment in san antonio tonight. wait, actually, that entire game was frightening. Let's just blame THAT loss on the erriie forces of 10/31.

Good luck on the season! I hope you can accomplish all of the goals that you've set for the year. It's nice to see a rookie like you bring a sense of change to the kings franchise. Good Luck!
