nice kings we just need to win games in the summer games so i can tell we changed about losing to winning.
amen.
Nice chance to build some chemistry.REKE HAVOC!!!!
god iack in Summer League games
let us see the rocys/
jerel mcneal nice addition
Casspi v Calathes….nice
Toolson….very poor man's Reddick? This is his second visit though…between him and Landry and Matthews….if you had to pick one…I know most say Landry, but I say Matthews…aggressive, toughness…that's what the Kings are looking for…
I hope Kings don't overpay for Diogu….Petrie said in Sacbee they need one more big man…(Battle and Bryant…uh..no…)
Bobby Jackson's replacement ….Mcneal v Stowes v Roberts….if you had to pick one…Mcneal…Roberts is a great shooter, but Mcneal is more all around, plays defense…again, aggressive, toughness…
I am new to the Summer League. Are these tryouts for other players to get on the team?

"I like Ike". He can play post when he gets the minutes. He helped get the win in Memphis.
Its kinda sad when we can say the win in Memphis and we know exactly which game you are talking about,
Go Kings
Again like Ike, as a back up though. We need to make sure our developing starters get a chance to do just that, develope. Spence still has work to be done, hence putting him on the roster for summer league. He has so much more potential and that requires playing time. I wouldn’t mind seeing a pickup in the offseason of a defensive specialist. If we’re taking a “no nonsense approach” to the game now and we’re “going tuff” (I do believe we are!) then defense is what we need
Yes. That is why bigs are so important in the paint. We need Thomas to be a big in the paint.
One game is def no reason to overpay a player though! No disrespect to Ike, I like him as a backup, but lets not go paying him a starters salarie. We could either save that cap space or go find an interesting player who fits defensively. As for the summer league, I'll be seeing you rookies (not really spence) there. Can't wait to see JT's improvment and our new big point!
No offense taken. I understand about the salary issues. In his last two games Diogu scored over 50 points combined.
Yes. That is why bigs are so important in the paint. We need Thomas to be a big in the paint with Diogu, Spence, and JT.
Thomas needs to be traded. Kings aren't starting with a clean slate till Thomas is gone.
I agree. Practice can make players play better. We do have allot of young players on the team. I believe we will improve defense if we get more rebounds. Westphal wants the younger players to get all the practice they can get. Hopefully it will payoff with more wins. Brockman and Casspi should add rebounds, Rodrigez should add assists. Tyreke should add points. What the team needs is at least two players who can get into the 20-30's each night. In order to get wins we need more points and we need to stop other teams from scoring. We can score over 100, but we let the other teams win. Defense is what we are lacking the most. We definately have to get a tougher defense to get wins.
We get out rebounded 5 rebounds per game, out blocked about 1 block per game, and out stealed about 2 times per game. Those are the stats we have to turn around. You know we are somewhat good at stealing the ball. We get 6.93 steals per game. I like that!
I got the info at this link:

Petrie said in Sacbee that they need (at least) one more "big man".
Don't overpay Diogu (I keep thinking about Bibby…overpaid)….Kings can also consider Paul Millsap (restricted), Brandon Bass (my preference if you can get him "cheap"), and even Channing Frye. And if all else fails…maybe Sean May at a discount.
I think it would be strange for us to shopping for a "big man", we have 15 guys on the summer league roster, (basically tryouts) 10 of which can play at the forward position. I think we really need to take a look at the "who's who" of defense out there and find someone with one on one, on ball defense capability. We got guys who can clean the boards for us now, we need on ball defenders, of any kind!
i think that this Justin Williams guy we found in the summer league two years ago was a nice shot blocker, and we need that… shame we didn't keep him

Garcia should be a "role model" player for the Kings when it comes to defense. He got 80 steals and 67 blocks. If more of the Kings team could play like that we would get more wins. Spence is the block King with 90, but he turns the ball over 160 times. Undrih is the steal King with 81, but only has 14 blocks. Blocks and steals should be a whole team effort, not just a one or two man show. When it comes to defensive rebounding, JT 372, Spense 401, and Noc 307, are pulling most of the load. It would help if other players got more defensive rebounds. If our team has a tendancy to be good at something it is steals, 569 for the season. Go Kings.

No one player can be relied upon to make all of the defensive plays. We need a whole team dedicated to the effort. Not just the big men either! Our biggest problem is "on the ball" defense and really no one has stepped up to that challenge. Blocks and steals are great, but they end up meaning nothing if you can't defend your man one on one.
Battle should be a great addition to the team. I remeber him a couple of years ago in college. He was top in the country in block shots. Battle can also rebound really well, especially on the offensive end of the floor. He also runs the floor well which can spead the floor for the shooters and gaurds. I would love to see him on the roster… :0)
Kings_Lover, i agree with your comment. Battle played in Europe the last few years he is def a winner. I believe he won 3-4 championships.
I think Battle is the last option in case they can't get Diogu, Millsap, or Bass. Battle was part of championship teams in South America then went to play for CB Valladolid in Spain. Here's a typical performance that you might get from him
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaEQ_vy5MAY&fe...
Off the top of my head, comparing him to past Kings, Battle would be like a smaller version of Keon Clark…probably play behind Brockman if signed.
Bryant playing behind Hawes…ok in halfcourt but Bryant is slow and not too athletic (can't jump), so forget fastbreaks or playing up-tempo ball, has fundamentals down on block….off top of my head, he'll be a slower less athletic Brad Miller…
Happy 4th Kings Fans! Please celebrate responsibly! Go Kings!
keep mcneal he is gonna be a good player
Are The Kings Going to play Tyreke Evans at Point guard or shooting. I think he'll be a good fit at point and have a Evans Martin Combo. The kings should really play him at point..
They've hinted at the press con that he will be at point. Westphal has said a few times, that he likes "big players" and "players who can play more than one position". I think it's safe to say their going to work him into the starting point, otherwise whats the point right (no pun intended). I hope they start him there for the summer league at least!
What's going on with free agency? Heard that Millsap's stock going down (6-7mil…too much for Kings?) and Brandon Bass stock going up (crap)…hope the Kings don't overpay for Diogu… Battle is the "bargain" option…
