Practice: Natt, Solomon and Simmons

March 5, 2009 by Andrew Nicholson

After a day of rest and recovery, the Kings returned to the practice court on Thursday. Beno Udrih’s sprained right foot continues to hinder him and his status remains day-to-day. Francisco Garcia, who fractured his right ring finger against the Indiana Pacers, practiced with a splint.

While Spencer Hawes and Jason Thompson stayed late after practice working on low post moves, defense and new plays with Development Coach Pete Carril and Assistant Coach Shareef Abdur-Rahim, we caught up with Coach Kenny Natt, Cedric Simmons and Will Solomon.

Watch - practice interviews. Topics include players’ goals down the stretch, getting acclimated to the team and Sacramento, improving defense and the contrast between coaching a veteran and young team.

It's great to see that Spence is workin with Shareef and Pete as well! Maybe we can get a few of the other players working with them as well. If for nothing else they could get a better feel for their games. Sorry about the fracture Cisco, rest up! Maybe this could give some starting time to McCants, test his leadership?!?

Thanks for the comment JTKingsFan. Although the team didn't have a scheduled practice today, Spencer was joined by JT, McCants, Solomon and Nocioni on the practice court today, working with the assistant coaches.

Thats great! These are most def the kind of things long time Kings fans like to hear! As hard as it was to see the old guys go it will be even better to have a new, young, well oiled machine on the hardwood next season. And seeing their development this season has been half the fun.
