Originally from Minnesota, Andrew Nicholson left the frozen tundra for college in the southwest, where he graduated from the University of Arizona in 2005. After four years of internships, radio shows and a lot of intramural basketball, he took his passion for hoops and writing/multimedia to the Phoenix Suns, where he interned and became an assistant for Suns TV and Suns.com/PhoenixMercury.com, respectively. He joined Maloof Sports & Entertainment in 2006 as the writer for Kings.com and has since grown his role into the manager of strategy and content for the Sacramento Kings New Media Network and the Sacramento Kings social media network. .
Sacramento Kings Strength and Conditioning Coach
Daniel Shapiro is responsible for designing and implementing the team’s in-season and off-season strength and conditioning programs while working closely with the training staff and doctors to monitor player nutritional needs and injury rehabilitation.
Sacramento Kings Basketball Information Manager
Darryl Arata, who has worked in the Basketball Operations department for 10 years, is responsible for the writing of gamenotes and several publications, including the Kings media guide, preseason guide and postseason guide.

Jason Thompson is a second-year forward/center. He graduated from Rider University with a degree in Communication, prior to being selected 12th overall in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings.

Katie is a fourth-year member of the SKDT. She started dancing at the age of two and hasn’t stopped since. She attended Backstage Academy of Dance in Turlock, CA for 15 years where she trained in ballet, pointe, pas de deux, tap, jazz, hip-hop and lyrical. She competed and performed as a member of Backstage’s Dance Company, which included productions such as “The Nutcracker” and “Swan Lake.” She also performed with the Oakland Ballet in its production of “The Nutcracker.” In college, she was a member of the Chico State Cheer & Dance Team, Chico State’s Dance Team, Expressions and Hype Dance Studio’s Fusion Dance Company, a competitive college jazz team.

Mitch Germann is the Vice President of Marketing and Communications. Prior to his current role, Germann served three seasons as Vice President of Business Communications, overseeing the team’s Public Relations, New Media and Community Service departments.
Sacramento Kings Vice President of Media Relations/Basketball Operations
Troy Hason has worked in the Kings Basketball Operations department for 18 years, including the last six seasons as Vice President of Media Relations/Basketball Operations. He has worked closely with Team President Geoff Petrie and owners Joe and Gavin Maloof in the communication of the team’s basketball news-making events over the past 10 years. He and his media relations staff maintain day-to-day contact with the local, national, and international media covering the Kings. Over the course of Troy’s tenure with the organization, Kings players, staff and ownership have been featured in numerous national publications, including cover stories in Sports Illustrated, ESPN Magazine and SLAM, and appeared as guests on several national talk shows, including the Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Show, Best Damn Sports Show Period, Larry King Live and Oprah.
Troy joined the Kings organization in 1992 as a media relations assistant.
He previously worked as the sports information director at San Francisco State University (1990-92) and as a media relations intern at the Pacific-10 Conference (1989). A native of Rockford, Illinois, Troy earned a communications degree from the University of Arizona (1988), where he worked as a student assistant in the sports information and track and field offices. He and his family reside in Rocklin.
